The Photographer’s Print Room uses an Epson Stylus Pro 7900. The 7900 is an advanced wide format printer that uses the latest UltraChrome HDR ink technology developed by Epson. Unlike the 7880 our 7900 utilises a 10 ink system (orange, green, cyan, light cyan, vivid magenta, vivid light magenta, yellow, light black, light light black, photo/matte black) which includes orange and green which means our printer covers an extremely wide colour gamut producing outstanding results.
Lightfastness for these new UltraChrome HDR inks is up to 200 years for a colour print and over 200 years for a black and white print.
The Epson UltraChrome HDR inks also provide a significant improvement in the skin tone reproduction, this is a result of the combination of the new orange ink with the light black ink.
The Stylus Pro 7900 also uses a MicroPiezo TFP print head taken from the 11880 printer. This TFP print head is capable of producing high quality prints at speeds almost twice as fast as Epson’s previous technology. The TFP print head also has special ink-repelling technology which means clogged nozzles are almost entirely eliminated.
With the 7900 being able to take almost any media in both sheet and roll formats up to 24″ there is no compromise when it comes to producing a print, whether its a fine art piece you’re going to sell, or simply a print for the family album.
